Calm Mind Counseling Center is a trauma-focused therapy practice that strives to improve the overall health and well-being of our clients. Although we offer a unique focus in EMDR treatment, our therapists have a wide variety of treatment expertise. We strongly believe in leveraging treatments that fit the needs of our clients.

Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) is an integrative therapy approach that helps people heal from trauma and other types of psychological distress like anxiety, phobias, addiction and much more.  EMDR has been extensively researched and proven to be a highly effective therapy tool in helping clients completely process through distressing experiences. EMDR has been extensively researched and proven effective for the treatment of trauma, anxiety, mood disorders, addiction, and performance enhancement.

Trauma-Informed Therapy recognizes the prevalence of trauma and the severe impact it can have on a person’s health and happiness. While some clients may immediately tell their therapist about their traumatic experiences, many are not comfortable sharing their experiences or may not be aware of the impact that it has had on them. A trauma-informed therapist approaches each client with the assumption that they have experienced some type of trauma and maintains a safe environment to empower the client to heal.

Trauma Informed Therapy

Explores the relationship between thoughts, feelings and actions. The focus is on developing tools to do things differently and in doing things differently it can change thoughts and feelings. CBT has been demonstrated to be effective for a range of problems including depression, anxiety disorders, alcohol and drug use problems, marital problems, eating disorders and severe mental illness. Numerous research studies suggest that CBT leads to significant improvement in functioning and quality of life.

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT)

Psychodynamic Therapy is effective for a wide range of mental health symptoms, including depression, anxiety, panic and stress-related physical ailments, and the benefits of the therapy grow after treatment has ended. Psychodynamic Therapy explores a patients understanding of the current problem.  It helps to increase self-awareness and understanding in the change process.

Psychodynamic Therapy

Ego State Therapy was developed to help people to understand themselves on a deep level, in order to reduce internal conflict among their parts and establish inner harmony.  If there are parts of your mind that are banished or unwelcome, these parts may interfere with your safety, your goals and plans, and your overall well being. Ego State Therapy focuses on the parts of self that become fragmented or compartmentalized when stressors or traumas occur.  Healing and integrating the different parts helps to improve overall health and happiness.
